Can pregnant woman bellydance too?

Of course, pregnant women find belly dancing excellent prenatal exercise because it strengthens the pelvic muscles and loosens up the abdominal area. It strengthens back and leg muscles, which are very critical for a woman to carry her pregnancy well.

What are the requirements to caucus? Can students vote?

If you’re not registered to vote, YOU CAN REGISTER AT THE CAUCUS, and you can switch your registration to the Republican Party. If the convenience will help convince your friends to come, take advantage. However, we strongly urge you to register Republican before the caucus date— register immediately at the Iowa GOP website.

You must have lived in Iowa for over 30 days. You must be registered to vote. You must have a state-issued ID card (military, student ID and general state ID all work) or simply be talented at forging said documents. You must be registered or register Republican. You must be 18 by or on November 4, 2008. You must love Ron Paul more than your own mother (not legally necessary).

Lastly, if you do register the night of, get there earlier and make sure you have proof of your Iowa address. So if you’re an out-of-state student, you will need a letter addressed to you or a confirmation letter from your landlord (since your address is not on the student ID).

Should I be afraid of owning an antique wax doll?

No. A wax doll is like a candle. It will not melt unless placed in a very hot place, such as in an attic or by a fireplace. You can, however, scratch a wax doll, so it is important to remove jewelry before handling one. Keep in mind that many antique wax dolls have survived centuries in excellent condition. You do not have to worry about owning an antique wax doll. For more information on antique wax dolls, visit our Study Page.

Can I name a cyclone?

No. Each tropical cyclone region of the world has a pre-prepared alphabetical list of tropical cyclone names, alternating between male and female. When a tropical cyclone is identified, it gets the next name on the list. If the tropical cyclone ends up being very significant in its impact, that name is never used again.

What product is taking up the most space in US landfills?

The item most frequently encountered in MSW landfills is plain old paper—on average, it accounts for more than 40 percent of a landfill’s contents. This proportion has held steady for decades and in some landfills has actually risen. Newspapers alone can take up as much as 13 percent of the space in US landfills.

Organic materials, including paper, do not easily biodegrade once they are disposed of in a landfill. Paper is many times more resistant to deterioration when compacted in a landfill than when it is in open contact with the atmosphere. Research by William Rathje, who runs the Garbage Project , has shown that, when excavated from a landfill, newspapers from the 1960s can be intact and readable.

What is pork-barrel spending?

In conjunction with the bipartisan Congressional Porkbusters Coalition, CAGW has developed seven criteria for identifying pork-barrel spending. All of the items in the Congressional Pig Book Summary meet at least one of CAGW’s seven criteria, but most satisfy at least two:

  • Requested by only one chamber of Congress;
  • Not specifically authorized;
  • Not competitively awarded;
  • Not requested by the President;
  • Greatly exceeds the President’s budget request or the previous year’s funding;
  • Not the subject of congressional hearings; or
  • Serves only a local or special interest.

When was Labor Day first celebrated in the United States?

On Sept. 5, 1882, when about 20,000 working people marched in New York City to demand an eight-hour workday and other labor law reforms. In a parade up Broadway, sponsored by New York’s Central Labor Union, they carried banners reading, “Labor Creates All Wealth” and “Eight Hours for Work, Eight Hours for Rest, Eight Hours for Recreation.” About a quarter million New Yorkers turned out to watch. The fight to preserve overtime pay for more than eight hours of work a day marks this Labor Day 122 years later.
